Monstah Black

Monstah Black, is a self-shaped Messiah of the Funk, bringing his Virginia roots and worldly peregrinations to bear on everything from class consciousness to gender politics. His wildly multidimensional works of art employ the disciplines of musical compositions, choreography and theater in seamless harmony.

Beginning with his days as a choreographer and performance student at Virginia Commonwealth University, Monstah has developed a signature performance strategy, marrying elements of circus frenzy with meditative butoh inspired movement.
Occupation ( maximum of three):
Movement artist(dancer/interdisciplinary performer), Sound designer (electronic/digital composition), Stage director (choreographer/ theater director)

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
