The Agite y Sirva (Pour & Shake) Festival was founded in 2008 as a network dedicated to screendance promotion across a national and international tour that reaches diverse audiences; offering screenings, video installations, workshops, conferences and discussion panels. Ximena Monroy is the Festival director and since 2009 Paulina Ruiz Carballido joined the team as associated artist. In its past 6 editions, Agite y Sirva has made 108 appearances in 18 cities in Mexico, 13 in Latin and North America and 10 in Europe, reaching a direct audience of 25,000. Among our guests we have had Javier Contreras, Gustavo Emilio Rosales (MX), Silvina Szperling, Susana Temperley (AR), Regina Levy, Luiz Bizerril (BR), Izabel Barsive (CA), Douglas Rosenberg (US), Gema Frontera and Alberto Lopez Cuenca (SP).

Agite y Sirva’s third edition was the venue for the 4th Latin American Videodance Forum (FLVD) in Puebla and Mexico City from June 6 to 10, 2011, thanks to the support from PECDA Puebla-CONACULTA grant, IBERESCENA Program and Centro Cultural de España en México.

From 2012 to 2014 Paulina Ruiz and Ximena Monroy have been invited as curators and jury to the International Screendance Festival directed by Douglas Rosenberg, the In Route Dance Festival of Los Angeles, the FIVER Festival of La Rioja-Spain, the SurReal-PLATAFORMA Berlin Festival and the Danzalborde Festival in Chile.

In 2014, thanks to the support from the Coordinación Nacional de Danza del INBA and the Red Nacional de Festivales de Danza in Mexico, we launched the First National Screendance Award, which gave MXN25,000 (€1,400) in three awards for Mexican artists. Our schedule for 2014 included our visit and activities in Mexicali, Ensenada, Tijuana, Oaxaca, Morelia, Guadalajara, Puebla, Querétaro, Xalapa and Mexico City (MX), Rio de Janeiro (BR), Stockholm (SE), Le Creusot (FR), Barcelona (SP), Montreal (CA), Valparaiso (CL), Bogota (CO), Quito (EC), Buenos Aires (AR) and Cagliari (IT).
