a dance-tech.net co-production|concept: marlon barrios solano & jeannette ginslov

MoveStream 03 | Dance documentary

Concept |Marlon Barrios Solano and Jeannette Ginslov
Produced & Presented | Jeannette Ginslov.
A Jeannette Ginslov and www.dance-techTV co-production.

MoveStream is a co-production and collaboration with www.dance-tech.net. This online Screendance networked platform was conceived by Marlon Barrios Solano and Jeannette Ginslov and launched 30 June 2010.

MoveStream provides an interdisciplinary platform that investigates the crossover between the boundaries usually found in media/dance/cinema/video and the internet. It provides a fresh and adaptive evolving domain for the public to engage with culture, choreography and performance. As a networked phenomenon, it encourages a much needed flow and exchange in Screendance discourse. It offers a new Screening portal for Screendance makers with the possibility of developing new online performance vocabularies that reposition dance performance as a multi-sited, digitally mediated art form. Ease of accessibility encourages viewers to engage with the ontologies that are foregrounded in the interviews. It also serves as an open archive for Screendance, preserving the past with the capability of re-informing the present.

Screendance works are selected and are curated under a certain theme. The filmmakers and/or choreographers of the Screendance works are interviewed over skype or at Screendance festivals and then uploaded on the dance-techTV - You Tube Channel, Blip TV and Live Stream. With the use of annotations the interviews and clips of the artist’s works are linked to one another. This invites the viewer to actively engage in the selection of their viewing experience by extending the information over the net in a rhizomatic fashion.

Criteria for selecting Screendance works at festivals

Posted on February 14, 2011 at 4:10am 1 Comment

Here are some ideas for selection criteria that were developed by AFDA (South African School of Motion Picture), and used in student film evaluations. I have developed them further for use in Screendance evaluations.  The 60secondsdance.dk selection committee will also be using them to evaluate and select the top 10, the overall winner and the runner up for 60seconds.

Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.

welcome to UNSTABLELANDSCAPE

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
