This call opens February 11- the  deadline is March 15, 2012

.

The third version of FIVC will be held the last week of March 2012 and offers different formats for work.

The official selection 3.0 will be displayed in two different spaces.

As one of the purposes of this festival and the idea of stepping outside of the traditional exhibition spaces and creating new audiences is that this year will be taken FIVC a street in the city of Santiago and a movie theater in high quality peripheral cultural space.

The call FIVC 3.0 exhibition opens three categories.
-

  • VD5
  • VDFLMS
  • FILES
From these categories is intended to expand the interaction of video-dance, which inhabits a still indecipherable visual territory between body and camera.

VD5
Appropriating public space in the city Santiago of Chile, as part of the official sample of FIVC 3.0, seeks to seduce VD5 through works of short duration to a passerby daily spectator away from museums, exhibition halls, theater and cinema, bringing it to a format of creation still unknown to many.
The work does not have to exceed the 5 minutes duration,  30 seconds minimum including credits.

VDFILMS

VDFIMLS calls videodance works of medium and long term  for  exhibitions in a traditional  place .

1.  The work does not have to exceed the 40 minutes duration,  10 minutes minimum
including credits.
The subject and treatment of the work are free, understanding “videodance works” without derivatives and where as much the visual and sonorous components especially have been created for this format. They are excluded documentary works, registries of urban interventions and those videos that have been created originally for scenic works (the video as stage scene or complement of the scenic work).

FILES

FILES

calls documentary  for  exhibitions in a traditional  place .
In this category can participate:
docs: Works documentaries dealing with issues, characters, stories, tales, and other creative processes in the field of dance and performance art.
body.mov: Works as a central document including the human body in an expansive field of visual thinking and visual anthropology, anthropology of  body or urban ethnography, which result in the video support.

The official shoowing of VD5 FIVC will take place on Cabildo street in the municipality of La Florida (Santiago), in a busy urban thoroughfare.

In parallel, the selection  VDFILMS and FILES, will be shown in a fully equipped cinema complex in the newly opened Civic Center of El Bosque (Santiago).
