Ivan Thorley is an independent dancer, performer, puppeteer, choreographer and animateur, involved in the performing arts industry since he was 10yrs old.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Dance from the Victorian College of the Arts in 2000, and completed a Certificate in Small Business from RMIT in 2005.

In 2007 he completed a Post-Graduate degree in Animateuring (Hybrid Theatre Practice) at the Victorian College of the Arts.

Currently Ivan is completing an MA in Digital Performance at Brunel University, West London under Gretchen Schiller.

For the past seven years Ivan has worked and toured throughout Australia and internationally to countries in Europe, Asia, North America, South America and the Middle East.

The 'mrthorley' project explores the development of form and is dyadic in nature, drawing on text, film, pop culture and visual art, and explores new ways to innovate and imagine hybrid performance mediums; including the use of technology, choreography, puppetry, sound and multi-layered narratives.

In process and outcome, mrthorley aims to be dynamic and diverse in approaching new work, to create projects that are meaningful and collaborative to build banks of information for participating artists and audiences.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
