I am a Kathak dancer,teacher ,choreographer from India.Kathak is one of the classical dance form of India.I have travelled world over performing,conducting workshops and lecture demonstration to propagate Indian classical dance abroad.

I am based in New Delhi,capital,India.

How do you train yourself or your performers. How do you approach your embodied practices? what kind of technique do you use?
I try to give an overall outlook about India (history of dance,temple art of India,cultural diversity of India ect)to international students so that it becomes easier for them to understand the dance form better and imbibe it in accordance to its origin.
How do you relate your work to the goal of this site? how would you like to participate?
I would like to meet like minded people with whom I can work in colaboration and propogate Indian classical Dance.

Hello Sangita, Thank you for adding me as a friend. I have not been to India, but my brother has (he is a visual artist) and he also plays the sitar. I have seen classical Indian dance here in Miami at a national dance competition for graduating high school students. I can only say that classical indian dance is very beautiful and difficult to master. I hope I can get to learn at least some basics someday.
