About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..:
I began photographing dance in the early eighties, then began making films for projection in 1984 with “Bright Orchard” for Diane Frank & Deborah Riley. From 1985 - 1990, I produced a live switch, four-camera concert series for local cable in Northern Virginia that was recently acquired by the Library of Congress, along with tapes I made while on the board of Washington Project for the Arts. I established ARTtv, LLC in 1990 in Washington, DC and relocated to NYC in 2003. I have a long standing interest in science, movement and philosophy and in 2004 was accepted into the European Graduate School (EGS). My MA is pending academic paper review but the interview based project I began producing at EGS (Meeting of the Minds) was awarded a NEA grant in 2007. Some of my favorite projects have been producing the Martha Graham Legacy Project and taping with Maida Withers Dance Construction Company in Russia. After earning a BA in Film & Video from American University in 1984 I worked in cell animation before discovering how much I enjoyed interviewing. Since then I produced documentary style for television while creating media for projection and installation. I produced for WETA-TV, the PBS station in Washington, DC including a couple of docs in HD that were acquired by Voom HD Gallery. In 2000 I spent 10 weeks at UCLA on a PEW Charitable Trusts Dance Media fellowship. The next year produced a doc on Dance Place in D.C. supported by the National Institute for Preservation of America’s Dance (NIPAD) administered by Dance USA. In 2006 I wrote an interactive game script that was accepted for fellowship and consultations at an EU Media/Sagasnet workshop in Stuttgart.

Where are you based?(city and Country)
I live in Manhattan but sublet often to afford it. Then i go away to work on projects, visiting and housesitting. Traveling suits me and with an internet connection, camera and laptop i am home anywhere.
Languages that you would use in this network besides English:
Possibly phrases in German, Spanish, Italian, French, Russian, Estonian, Irish, Hebrew, Arabic, or technospeak
Areas of interest on performance and new media
As a philosopher i am researching embodiment theory. As a photographer/filmmaker, my goal is to translate the visceral feeling that occurs in kinetic experience into another viewer. So the movement initiated by the live dancer keeps on going. The image forges connection.
How did you learn about dance-tech.net?
Marlon Barrios Solano. I was on a Dance Tech list serve many years ago but maybe different members.
Environments and applications that you use the most for your projects
Final Cut ( or any other video editing), camera work, Second Life
Which other:
i want access and opportunity to learn more applications.

  • Top Ten Brands to Boycott – Bay Area Campaign to End Israeli Apartheid
While there are many Israeli and multinational companies that benefit from apartheid, we put together this list to highlight ten specific companies to target. Many of these produce goods in such a way that directly harms Palestinians — exploiting labor, developing technology for military operations, or supplying equipment for illegal settlements. Many are also the targets of boycotts for other reasons, like harming the environment and labor violations.
