You're right that infrastructure is a problem, and unfortunately, its one that is outside of our capabilities to solve, which is why on the survey there wasn't a check box for Africa. (To clarify, it's not that we excluded Africa from being an opt...

How do you train yourself or your performers. How do you approach your embodied practices? what kind of technique do you use?
Training by doing has always been my motto. Recently started a lab called Defining the Capture which seems promising. A group of dancers, filmmakers, photographers, art students came together to trade images on "breath" and then improvised with ways to capture that in motion.
How do you relate your work to the goal of this site? how would you like to participate?
DFA is slowly morphing from its 50s model for an association to what they means today. This site is very useful as a catalyst for change.
Any additional information about your self or your organization (your BIO or or the Mission of the organization you represent):
My grandfather was a scientist, an avid reader, and, though he was clumsy, he always fancied himself to be a great dancer. I was in awe of his mind, his humor, his vast range of knowledge. When I asked him for direction one day when I was around 12, he said, "Just stick to the essence of anything you do and you'll be okay." So be it.

Dance film BLUMENZIMMER meaning 'Flower Room' in German, depicts a contemporary adult fairytale about a dancer confined to live in a box. The end of dvds is near?

Will all exchange of digital materials soon be transacted on-line? It would seem that for all the entrants/producers of film festivals, soon only an address on-line will be necessary. The burning of dvds, mailing them, storing them may all be a thing of the past.

"In 2050, when choreographers jetpack to their studios, they will arrive with their warm-up complete, having executed their stretching exercises along the way. The wall-size mirror-- which doubles as a screen and a compu… Continue

Nice ideas
Do you happen to know anyone who works at VH1/ MTV?

Maybe we could have a call for silent films and create an event inviting the musicians to accompany it. The audience picks their favorite and the musician plays again.

hmmm...perhaps the musicians play live with the video. or representing collaborations of local musicians with local dancers/videographers...keeping nyc alive...get MTV to feature a dance film as a music video... :)
