This is the video captured from the online video conversation with Peter Kyle and K.J. Holmes.
There was an audio problem for me solved at 1:36 minutes.

Please watch and write down in this discussion key words or tags that make figure/resonate for you and what you see emerging.
How do you relate with their ideas and work?
Themes, tags and visualization: see instructions below.

REAL TIME TAGGING AND WORD CLOUDS

This real time tagging method devised as an strategy for active watching.

This method  is designed to sample in real time several aspects of the experience of observing/watching the video: words, images, feelings, sensations, etc.

Any relevant aspect of the experience that can be represented with a key word.

The resultant list of individual and collective keywords is visualized using the online software Wordle:http://www.wordle.net/

This activity has two phases.  Do them each week, using the appropriate section of interview.

Phase 1: Real Time Tagging:

Prepare to watch the conversation with your favorite text editing software open.

While you watch,  write key words sampled from your experience: direct quotes, sensations, feelings, concepts, associations. Do not worry about recording the time code for each tag.

Write as much as you can.

YOUR TAGS SHOULD ONLY BE ONE WORD LONG.

It is OK to repeat words

Share your list, copying and pasting as a response in this thread

Phase 2:  Word Cloud Visualization of the COLLECTIVE experienc

Go to the website http://www.wordle.net/ (note that the website does not work on Chrome)

-Click on CREATE

In another browser window, return to this discussion thread.  Copy all of the tag responses to this post.

-Go back to wordle and Paste them into the white box labled “Paste in a bunch of text:”

-click on “GO”.

-It will take few seconds to process  and it will show you a graphic. You may need to install a java applet if the browser asks you.

See example with the key words from the “GIVE” thread:

You will have a resulting image like so:

play with different settings and change the output:

Color

layout

Font

re-layout

and more

-When you are finished with your word cloud, please click "save to a public gallery" and fill out the form

-When you are done filling out the form, it will give you  embedding code from your image

It will look like this.

<a href="http://www.wordle.net/show/wrdl/6894229/Give_from_minded_motion"

         title="Wordle: Give from minded motion"><img

         src="http://www.wordle.net/thumb/wrdl/6894229/Give_from_minded_motion"

         alt="Wordle: Give from minded motion"

         style="padding:4px;border:1px solid #ddd"></a>

-Copy this code and post it in this thread: click HTML  before pasting: which you can find in the upper right corner of your reply/post window.

It will look like this:

Wordle: Give to Mindend Motion

You can also play with the visualization of your personal list of work  and see the differences with the collective list of words.

Read it and see what themes  emerges....

Did you see the same results without the visualization?

What relations do you find with your work?

My congratulations to the idea of Meta-Academy, its materialization and its organization. Great thoughts were heard tonight inside the context of a human discussion! I hope that the Meta-Academy will create a lot of bridges of communication instead of cutting them. I am really looking forward to attend all the following meetings...!

Thanks for making this platform available to us, Marlon, Rachel and the Meta-Academy community! It was a stimulating conversation we had yesterday and I'm excited to have our first rehearsal this morning. The Slow Tempo workshop last night was inspiring -- as is so often the case, being in the room with people that are discovering this quiet work for the first time reminds me of the profound implications of slowing down and coming into deeper awareness of ourselves in relation to others.

As an addendum to yesterday's conversation, I can't believe I neglected to mention one of the strongest influences on me over the past 20 years - the writings of anthropologist Michael Jackson, whose books including At Home In The World invite meaningful contemplation about the relationships we build, sustain and evolve between self and other. Am currently reading a more recent volume of his called Between One and One Another. Check 'em out!

It was a pleasure for me too.

I felt a lot of resonance  and ripples in many directions.

I have  read Michael Jackson short essays. Lets try to find some material to add it to the resources section.

Can you expand, if you have time about this point " build, sustain and evolve between self and other".?

We are very interested on notions and approaches to collaboration?

Here were some of the interview questions group members proposed!

Why is dance important? Why make dance?

How do you feel about being a mentor? Who are yours?

What feels uneasy about collaboration? What feels easy?

What's your approach/process to/for making a dance in one week or less?

Similar to Sandra's question, how does your working process in a situation like Taking PLace reflect or differ from your ideal working process?

When you're working with a new group, how do you communicate your value systems?

How do choreography, sensing, improvising interact in your making process?

What choreographic or aesthetic frames are on your mind right now?

KJ, in your bio, you frame performance as an inquiry.  What do you mean by that?  What are you looking for and what have you found?

Peter, talk to us about time in your work.  Why is it so fascinating for you?

You both work with multiple performance modes-singing, acting, live music, film, etc.  Why?

How do you use the internet in your making process? Can you think of any experiments you might like to try?

Here are some informal notes I took during the discussion
