So, my third year at New Media Meeting (NMM) in Norrköping, Sweden. I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. They moved it from September to May this year, and it doesn't seem to have turned out as well as they were hoping. The sun's been shining bright, and people just want to be outside eating ice-cream all day and night. Even worse is that there are hardly any artists here this year. Last year and the year before that, the whole foyer was filled with funny little installations and interactive art works. The makers of all the stuff were hanging around, and it became a meeting place where we could chat and get inspired by each other's crazy projects. This year, there are only two video works running, and no artists to speak to. Only us, of course, and our lab hasn't turned out very well either.

We were supposed to play around with Kalypso but none of us understands how it works really. We managed to get some blobs on the floor but that was basically it. Before I arrived yesterday, the others tried to connect with Dresden, Madrid and Prague but it was no success. Apparently, they could see us but we couldn't see them. We really have to learn how this program works. At least, it seems like we'll be able to go to Madrid to see the rest of the guys, and hopefully learn something. AND we have a working space now, finally!

Now, let's hope for some good music tonight so that I can dance, dance, dance... :)

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
