research on improvisation and Parkinson's - positive changes in balance and in the brain

Over the last three years, I've conducted several studies on the effects of improvisational dance on balance for people with Parkinson's disease. While a number of different dance styles have been studied and shown to be beneficial for Parkinson's, only one has used improvisation (a 2009 study on Contact by David Marchant and Madeleine Hackney).
