About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!: I'm a shaker of salt on the table. I perform conjurations through one-woman shows. As a black woman, I pull from my heritage in the Deep South of the US to populate worlds with profound jewels that only come from rejoicing under great pressure. Storytelling, Spelling, Dancing and Drumming sustain my "dancememory" pieces as I trace circular routes of social re/discovery and de/cipepherments. I have presented performance work at Pittsburgh Art Institute, UC San Diego, UC Berkeley, MIT, Williams and Brown University as part of the RISD/Brown Performance Art Series. Lately, I've been caught in the act in Los Angeles at the Anatomy Riot and Highways Performance Space. Dance Week Challenge from VISCERA and Afrologica

So Dance week is upon us here in the US. Usually a series of somewhat hokey studio offerings, this event was initially planned by UNESCO as a one day dance intervention. There was to be dancing int he streets, in public plazas and buildings, parks and thoroughfares. Dancing literally in the streets if one could manage it.
