Independent artist,performer, professional dancer,pedagogue and choreographer currently living and working in the Netherlands. Her education started in Sarajevo under the leadership of Edina Papo. She attended the Ballet Studio of Croatian National Ballet of Split and successfully graduated High School of Arts & High School for Classical Ballet in Zagreb,Cro. under Irena Pasarić.
She received a first prize study grant by the Stichting Dansersfonds '79 in 2001 and was nominated for ‘most talented young Croatian’ through the Vecernjakov citizenship 2009 Award. She graduated in 2002 at the Rotterdamse Dansacademie-Codarts.
Misirlić worked for 9 years for Dance Works Rotterdam company as one of the leading dancers under artistic direction of Ton Simons. She’s involved in teaching, giving workshops of contemporary dance, classical ballet and different repertoire dance pieces and in choreographing herself a.o. for Korzo Productions -Den Haag.
Misirlić creates educational dance projects as"Travelogue" which toured in Netherlands,Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She danced in works by Ton Simons, Jonah Bokaer ,Rafael Bonachela, Leina & Roebana, Pascal Touzeau, Phillip Adams, Doug Elkins, Bruno Listopad, Stephen Petronio, Sjoerd Vreugdenhil, Andre Gingras, Lucy Guerin, Sanja Hasagić-Maier, Ruta Butkus,Samir Calixto a.o.
Since 2010 Irena is dancing for Jonah Bokaer in NYC as guest dancer.
Since 2012 she became agent and assistant for choreographer Ton Simons.
Irena is next to her dancing and performing currently working as a faculty member at the Codarts as teacher in a BAC team(Body Awareness Centering),giving Pilates to students of dance department,teachers department and Havo.
Irena is Pilates Instructor of Authentic J.Pilates method trained by Romana's Pilates New York Education of true Pilates and she studied under trainers Javier Velazquez,Marjorie Oron,Jane Poewoatmodjo,Esperanza Aparcio Romero,Javier Perez,Mariska Bernard, Henry Rushing a.o.
