Class Descriptions:

BOOTCAMP: All levels welcome (exercises grouped accordingly). Stay warm this season while you challenge yourself to the flamenco max! This class will drill technique for upper & lower body. Focus is on developing style, strength, and stamina in traditional Flamenco movement. For men and women. Bring H20 - and be prepared to sweat.... Vamo'Ya!

FLAMENCO RHYTHM: Palmas & Compás - All levels welcome (exercises grouped accordingly). Palmas are the glue that holds Flamenco music, song & dance together. For a dancer, understanding the compás in Flamenco is THE KEY to having control and confidence! In this class Magdalena cracks open the mystery of the compás. Beginners explore the various sounds, rhythms, effects, and subtleties created just by clapping, while more advanced students further develop their "oído," honing their skills in contratiempo, remates, and cierres. This class is accompanied by a guitarist. Dancers, musicians, and aficionados welcome.

FLAMENCO DANCE: Review from Fall session followed by introduction of new choreography from Miguel Vargas' workshop. Regular attendance (at least twice weekly) is recommended. Performance opportunities to come.
