AWAKENING / BUDJENJE

After a great success of ballet performances “La Capinera” (2007) and “Zemlja” (“Earth”) (2008), Terazije Theatre has, as a part of its repertoire plan for the season 2009/2010, prepared a new ballet performance “Awakening”, directed by Bosko Djordjrevic according to the libretto of Vuk Rsumovic. Choreography is made by Michele Merola, costumes by Andrijana Simovic, while original music is written by Slobodan Markovic.

The interesting fact is that in this performance, the high technology and 3D animation, which was used at the grand opening of the Universiade in Belgrade, is used for the first time in this region. The scenographic elements act like projection surfaces for 3D animations and interact fully with ballet dancers and actors on the scene, which creates a new way of directorial, artistic, musical and choreographic performance in our country. Art director and animator of the ballet “Awakening” is Dusan Jovovic, who was, together with the director Bosko Djordjevic, a part of the team responsible for the visual effects at the greatest sport event in Serbia.
