phRasen der dressur is a music and dance exchange based on questions about discipline, education, breeding, enlightment and horses. During the process of developing phRasen der dressur we aimed to broaden our research on the mentioned terms and our personal understanding of discipline and how tradition effect the present.
Questions we worked with during the process are:
How do we experience states and methods of dressage and training?
Which goals do different (pedagogical) models and systems of sanctions aim at?
What role does discipline play in different religions? Which rewards and punishments should work as a challenge to reach enlightenment?
What role does discipline have in creative processes?
Is there a chance for success without discipline?
What is the difference between discipline and submission?
How is freedom and individuality defined in various (dance-)techniques?
How can the historical context of transformation from a system of punishment to a system of self-control be understood?
How important is discipline at the present time?

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
