LAND PROJECT | A series of encounters between Lisa Parra & Daniel Pinheiro investigating the possibilities of the performing in the mediation space.

The project between Lisa Parra and Daniel Pinheiro started as a collaboration within the Minded Motion lab #MetaAcademy – realized during the Bates Dance Festival 2013 – organized by Marlon Barrios Solano, Rachel Boggia, Nancy Stark Smith and Josephine Dorado. An online lab dedicated to the exploration of embodiment activities and co-creation across the internet.

LAND V.0 investigates physical versus virtual space, and how time, space and presence are embodied via the internet towards the creation of a communicating relationship. A collaborative project between Lisa Parra, choreographer (USA) and Daniel Pinheiro, video/media artist (Portugal) for developing methods for artistic research using telecommunication technologies.

LAND V.0 was presented within the MAP/P 2014, a portuguese festival curated by Alberto Magno (Fábrica de Movimentos) dedicated to showcase the processes of artistic creation focused on the concept of movement and body. This first live encounter between the artists happened in collaboration with artist Nery Lora in charge of sending live sound and visuals connected, via telepresence, from New York. Back and forth the images and sound captured through the webcams were sent, manipulated and sent back in a remixed format allowing the performers to interact with what was being transformed, thus transforming their own movement, perception and presence both on the same space and on screen.
