"Body Instrument" is an artistic interactive device that connects two dancers' choreography with an audible and visual representation of their body.
They do not dance to the music but themselves generate the sounds that accompany them through their movements.
These sounds are plastically translated by colorful tasks splashing on the screen.
The viewer must learn to navigate between the living body of the dancers, playing between immobility and mobility, and the bodies represented that appear and disappear from the screen, sometimes distorted sometimes hybridized.
"Body Instrument" was developed by Jean-Michel Rolland with Processing and uses a kinect to calculate the distance of the dancers and the amplitude of their movements.
This video, shot at Metz en Immersion, shows Pierre Bock and Isaac Chegaar execute their own choreography movements.
Both dancers have managed to tame the technical implementation and make the best use of it to develop complex patterns they deploy upon each activation of the work.
After the choreography, the device is made available to the public, inviting them to become an actor of it.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
