Hi Dough, this project started in 2005 on thinking about Anne Halprin's scores. It became a software that is able to generate in real time an improvisational task oriented dance score. In other words we invented an notation system for improvisation and the computer is able to generate it. But, and that's where things start to be interesting, we can interact with the software in real time on the stage while dancers are dancing interpreting the score that is being generated. In other words while the dancers (4 to 6) respond and interpret the score, according to what we see happening on stage from our point of view, we can modify some parameters of generativity. The software was written in Action Script with Christian Delecluse. You are going to play with it soon on a website.
I hope it helps.

Armando,

Thanks for posting. Could you talk a bit about the custom generative and interactive software used for this performance?

Thanks,
Doug Fox

D-flesh was founded By Armando Menicacci and Christian Delecluse in 2007 (although previous work was done) D-flesh was artist in residency in the Centre des Arts in Enghien-les-bains ad the Centre des Arts. We participated to "Bains Numérique", second edition, in october 2008 with Under-score and at the third edition with "Dans le noir" an interactive sound installation for one spectator at the time in total darkness.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
