dance-tech.net presents: Andrew Schneider: Spinning it his Own Way

I interviewed performer and multimedia designer Andrew Schneider (http://andrewjs.com/) towards the end of his April 2008 recidency at Lemurplex (http://www.lemurbots.org/) . He takes us across his world of cyborg musical theater, DIY electronics, experimental devices for performances, installations and thoughts about his peculiar creative process. Generous details about his systems and fun documentation that can stand as experimental video pieces in their own right!

Word up! Hey, yup the shoes have simple photo-cell in the heels so the higher the foot is off the ground, the more light gets in, the higher the sensor "knows" the foot is off the ground. There's more explanation here:

That's fantastic to see more of Andrew's works! I also met him at EMPAC and you can find a little interview with him in my VBlog on my dance-tech site or on http://blip.tv/file/1378237/

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.
