I wanted to inform dance-tech. net members of an interesting
collaboration between Cycling '74 (Max/MSP) and Ableton
(Live) called Max for Live. It will allow for the construction of
Max objects within Live and provide Max with a more user-
friendly front end. Here are links from their respective web
pages on the subject:
http://www.cycling74.com/special/maxforlive
http://www.ableton.com/extend
I believe it will then make it possible to make Live, which is
a great performance oriented platform, able to respond to
OSC (Open Sound Control) messages and make use of such
low cost controllers as the WiiRemote. It is already possible
to program some things using programs such as OSCulator:
http://www.osculator.net/wiki
to translate Wii gestures to MIDI, but this will allow for a more
extensive and flexible integration with Live.
I also wanted to thank Marlon and dance-tech.net for providing
discounted access to Max/MSP. I have been wanting to investigate
it's use for a while now, but did not have the budget for it. As a long
time user of Live this is a great time for getting up to speed on Max
as well.
Best regards,
Scott

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
