Nehuian Fuentes Anaya began her studies in classical ballet before joining the School of Contemporary Dance at the Universidad of Veracruzana in Xalapa. In 2008 she moved to New York city to train in the Certificate Program at The Ailey School being awarded a scholarship by SEGOB Veracruz. In this institution she received training from renowned dancers and teachers such as Dudley William, Jacqulyn Buglisi, Peter O'Brien, Kazuko Hirabayashi, Milton Myers, Elizabeth Roxas, Francesca M. Harper, Kevin Wynn amongst others. During her third year she worked in the Student Performance Group, performing inside the state of New York and new Jersey. She graduated from this three year long program with her own choreographic proyect wich was presented at the Ailey City Group Theatre in 2011. Upon finalizing from this modern dance based training she decided to go deeper into the field of contemporary dance in Europe. In 2011 he joined the Royal Conservatory of Dance Mariemma in the city of Madrid as part of Larreal company, as part of her performance practices, where he worked with the choreographers and teachers Pedro Berdayües, Jose Reches, Roberto Olivan and Oscar Losano. During 2012 she finaliced her studies being awarded a scholarship by the FONCA for international studies.
Nehuian has taken courses and workshops related to dance, choreography, improvisation and stage research with Rob Tannion (Australia), Alexander Ekman (Sweden) and in places like P.A.R.T.S. (Belgium), SEAD (Salzburg), IT Dansa (Barcelona), La Instrusa Danza (Barcelona) .
Nehuian is currently focusing on choreographic research, she completed the Diploma Interactions Bodies in dialogue in 2014 led by Claudia Lavista in the CASA Arts Center of San Agustin Etla in Oaxaca Mex; she participated in the National Dance Prize Guillermo Arriga 2015 with her piece ISH, and recently completed her latest choreographic project VAIN, sponsored by the Performing Arts Creators scholarship by the national fund for the arts of Mexico FONCA.
