Yvonne Lacombe was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, where she studied ballet and tap from a very young age. As she grew older, she added jazz, modern and acrobatics to her vocabulary. At the age of 13, she was accepted into Artistic Dance Conservatory‘s youth ballet company and their competitive performance team under the direction of Jennifer Dubilo and Rebecca Sutter. Here, she expanded her training in pointe, contemporary, and hip hop techniques. As part of ADC’s pre-professional programs, Yvonne performed lead roles in a variety of ballets including Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Cinderella. She also had the opportunity to attend various workshops in and around NYC as well as participate in the International Dance Championships in Germany and Poland. During her 6 years with ADC, she performed throughout the Northeastern United States at showcases such as the Massachusetts Dance Festival, the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, and the International Festival of Arts and Ideas. Yvonne was also recognized at both a national and international level, receiving titles such as Dance Spirit Magazine’s Future Star in January of 2010 and the gold medal in the duet category at the World Modern Dance Championships in 2008. Her most recent abroad experience included performing with Leslie Scott’s BODYART at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the summer of 2015.

Yvonne is a recent graduate of California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance with a minor in Digital Arts. As well as dancing in several student pieces throughout her college experience, she has performed in Rosanna Gamson’s Still at the Sharon Disney Lund Theater and in works by Andre Tyson, Colin Connor and Tanztheater Wuppertal’s Jonathan Fredrickson at REDCAT in downtown Los Angeles. In March 2013, she had the privilege of being a part of former Doug Varone dancer and Ririe-Woodbury’s current Artistic Director Daniel Charon’s BLINK, which earned a spot in LA Weekly’s “Dance Shows to See” section (Feb. 2013). In addition to performing, Yvonne has choreographed solo, duet, and group works for multiple shows through the Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance program. Her most recent work, patoisDEUX, premiered in the spring of 2015 as part of the CalArts NEXT Dance Company’s graduating concert. Currently, Yvonne is residing in Los Angeles where she is actively pursuing various short-term projects with fellow LA artists and is a proud mentor for the guiDANCE network.

Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.

welcome to UNSTABLELANDSCAPE

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
