It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!: Tangaj Dance Company was born in 2013 at the initiative of choreographer Simona Deaconescu. The young company has set its style of movement as often sinuously flowing and often fractured, off balanced, with a wide range in dynamics, a twisted shift of body weight and an urban swing. The decision to create a company came as an organic sequel of the projects developed in the autumn of 2013, coordinated by the same manager - Anamaria Antoci. The starting point is “0001|The Dream Factory”, a performance that was thought as a pilot to a serial program based on a practical research in the field of contemporary dance, science and pattern behaviour of the contemporary human beings. These patterns have influenced the choreographic approach, the stage design and the music used in the performance.

Tangaj Dance has gradually become a creative collective which sees the world as ever changing. With a progress-driven vision on dance and the evolution of the human body in motion, the works of choreographer Simona Deaconescu and her collaborators explore the way in which the evolutive altering of the body can be regarded from several perspectives, starting from the scientific principles which form the foundation of known motive phenomena. The company’s artistic direction is aimed at interdisciplinary projects, particularly collaborations with visual artists, in which technological innovation is used as an instrument of research and creation, in order to turn the performance space into a portal to parallel realities, attempting to simulate the cognitive processes of the modern man, invaded by the world he lives in.

The company develops long length stage performances as “0001|The Dream Factory” “0002|Birdville”, “0003|Aftertaste” dance films as “Silent Places” and coordinates new media and multimedia exhibitions as “X Platform”, having as main supporters The National Cultural Fund Administration, The Romanian Cultural Institute, The Bucharest Council Cultural Centre, The National Centre of Dance Bucharest, 4Culture and WASP-Working Art Space and Production. The company is also the organiser of Bucharest International Dance Film Festival. The artistic collective organises educational driven activities as teaching contemporary dance classes, interdisciplinary laboratories and coaches performative labs. Tangaj Dance has its headquarters in Bucharest but often travels inside and outside Romania, touring the shows or presenting the film in dance film festivals around the globe.
