Rochelle is a freelancer and an emerging dance artist that is currently undergoing the last year of a full time dance course with the UOM. 25 years old and has previously graduated in the field of radiography. An ex-gymnast and has collaborated in previous performances, including Maltese festivals such as Notte Bianca with Redtape dance company. Took part in the live arts of the London Olympics (2012) and In 2014 she has also toured to Spain and Malta with works of internationally known choreographers including Joshua Cienfuegos, Lucia Piquero and Athanasia Kanellopoulou.Had the opportunity to work site specifically with Irina Pauls for ‘Open Waters’ (2012) as part of the 50th anniversary of the German Maltese Circle. There is a continuous thirst for learning and has experienced several workshops with prestigious artists including Idan Porges from Batsheva dance company and Roberto Olivan. Has on several occasions worked collaboratively with musicians such as Big Band Brothers, actors and also actively led dance in the community workshops with kids and teenagers. She also taught dancenastics and other artistic skills to young female gymnasts.

TURBULENCE may be a direct way to describe the way she generates movement. Her inspirations are usually the arousal of indirect and deviated thoughts linked to listening to others speak, or watching movement and reactions to variations in stimuli particularly in the children, elderly people and animals. Rochelle often looses herself in studying personal flaws, possibly pivoting them to problem solving challenges. She have a strong belief in the existence of polarity and the counterpoints that often repel each other. As a dancer there is a thirst to experience two extremes in their farthest range the more one absorbs from what lies within the extremes the greater the understanding one gathers with regards to versatility.
Occupation ( maximum of three):
Movement artist (dancer/interdisciplinary performer), Independent Educators (consultant/ instructors/ workshop leaders/ lecturers/ researchers), Academic Educators (formally teaching and researching in a university)

Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.

welcome to UNSTABLELANDSCAPE

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
