About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!: Prior to becoming a filmmaker, I was a choreographer specializing in comedic work. The New York Times called me: "A rare and wonderful talent." My company toured for 15 years, including the Spoleto Festivals in the U.S. and Italy, Jacob’s Pillow, and numerous New York seasons in venues such as the Joyce Theatre, Dance Theatre Workshop, and Joseph Papp’s New York Dance Festival at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park. Eventually I was drawn more to visual media and entered The American Film Institute in Hollywood as a Directing Fellow. Since A.F.I., my films have won 60 awards and are screened around the world on television and in locations as diverse as the Getty Museum and the CBS JumboVision in Times Square. In 2000, I revisited dance when he received a fellowship to explore ways of filming dance. Since then I have continued to make dance-films and have taught dance-filmmaking at the California Institute of the Arts and Mills College. I am now a professor of dance-filmmaking at the Ohio State University. I also tour The Mitch Show, a program of my films and audience-participation performance pieces. I recently toured The Mitch Show in Kosovo as a U.S. State Dept. Cultural Envoy.

Globe Trot: Collaborators Wanted!

Filmmakers and dancers —

Filmmaker Mitchell Rose and choreographer Bebe Miller are working on a crowd-sourced dance-film project called GLOBE TROT in which 50 filmmaker/dancer pairs around the world teach two seconds of Bebe's choreography to non-dancers on the streets of their respective lands.
