Kora Radella is the choreographer and a co-artistic director of BOOMERANG and Double-Edge Dance. She has an extensive repertory of choreographic work that has been performed in Belgium, England, The Netherlands, Scotland, Switzerland and the U.S.A. Radella’s work with BOOMERANG has been performed in NYC venues including Dixon place, Judson Church, Center for Performance Research (CPR), Triskelion Arts, the Irondale Center, and at the United Nations. Double-Edge Dance has been based in Ohio for the last decade and has shown work at Cleveland Public Theatre, Playhouse Square in Cleveland, BalletMet, the Ingenuity Festival of Cleveland, OhioDance Festivals as well as 100 Grand, Movement Research, and Roulette in New York City. Noted for her use of "awkward grace," the integration of idiosyncratic motion with musical phrasing, compositional form, and performance depth, her movement research often delicately teeters on the edge of being out-of-control, thus pushing both physical and psychological balances. Radella is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Kenyon College. Radella’s work with Kenyon College students was performed at Kennedy Center in the National College Dance Festival May 2012. Radella is a 2104 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award recipient. Radella's honors include the Ineke Sluiter Prize for choreography in Amsterdam, and a fellowship from the Belgian American Educational Foundation to pursue post-M.F.A. research in choreography, in Brussels. Her work has been funded by organizations including Anjersfonds and Prins Bernard Fonds in Amsterdam, Société des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques in Brussels, the Abteiling Kulturelles des Kantons Basel-Landschaft grant in Basel, Switzerland, Illinois Arts Council, Ingenuity Festival, and the Ohio Arts Council. Radella often works as a movement coach for theater productions at Kenyon College. Her primary teaching interests include contemporary dance technique with dynamic release principles, improvisation, choreography, contact improvisation, and movement for actors. Radella has an M.F.A. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an advanced diploma from the School for New Dance Development (SNDO) in Amsterdam, Netherlands and is a certified yoga teacher (500RYT).

Over the past two weeks I have been in residence at Lake Studios Berlin focusing on improvisation in rehearsals and performances, mostly with saxophonist/improviser/composer Ross Feller, the other half of a long collaboration via Double-Edge Dance. Improvisation has been a through-line in my decades long journey as a dance artist while I have also focused on choreographic work. As a performer, I prefer to create instant compositions and as a choreographer, I prefer not to perform and to hone…

The wonderful Lake Studios Berlin where I arrived May 1st. I have been dancing daily, some solo, some with others, and some with saxophonist/composer Ross Feller. This month is supposed to have the focus of improvisation with Double-Edge Dance's Feller while I'll switch to choreography with BOOMERANG's principal performer Matty Davis in June. I usually enjoy improvising and…

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
