About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!
I am a philosopher teaching at the department of philosophy at Anadolu University in Eskişehir, Turkey. I am at the same time leading the Anadolu University Modern Dance Group. I am a dancer, choreographer and trainer.

My dance career started in 1990 when I joined the contemporary dance group of Middle East Technical University in Ankara, where I studied philosophy. In 1995 I attended both Laban Centre's and Birmingham DanceXchange's summer school and took courses on modern dance, impovisation, contact improvisation, choreography and music. I was a dancer, choreographer and trainer in METU contemporary dance group until 1998. Among the choreographies I made during that period, two of them, "Time" and "Cosmologia" were philosophically shaped. After finishing my master and PhD degree in METU department of philosophy I moved to Eskişehir, my present town. I initiated Anadolu University modern dance group in October 2006.

There is something philosophical in the movement itself. In fact I believe modern dance is essentially philosophical since it provides an awareness of our body with its relation to our mind. In order to gain this awareness, improvisation and contact that our group pays attention is vital.

Anadolu University modern dance group is open to those students of Anadolu University who want to discover their bodies through movement and use their creativity in expressing themselves. We give importance to feelings and sensations and like to try and try until we feel we are expressing ourselves.

We believe music is important in supporting dance and not the other way round. That is the reason why until now we used music that is composed for the performance itself. We do also use live music and we especially like "dijiridu".

The spirit of the group is based on the view that "everybody has something important to contribute."

Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.

welcome to UNSTABLELANDSCAPE

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
