About Me (human/individual)/interests, work..short bio/ THis is the most important. It is the only way to know that you are not a SPAMBOT!Be generous!
Caroline has been a professional dancer for eleven years, performing with companies such as Stan Won’t Dance and Motionhouse Dance Theatre. She has been director and choreographer for Brazen Dance Theatre for five years. She has just obtained an MA with Distinction in Video Production and Film Studies (January 2007). She has most recently shot and edited the short film CHANGE written by BBC’s Steve Misiura (Writer of Oscar-nominated documentary UNKNOWN WHITE MALE). Caroline has also recently co-directed, choreographed and edited an art gallery dance film installation entitled DISPOSABLE LOVE funded by Arts Council England for ten weeks at Solihull Art Gallery (Sept-Oct 2007).

Caroline aims to create accessible and relevant work about contemporary issues. Communication is paramount in Caroline’s work, and she aims to engage with an audience on many levels – through imagery as well as the sheer physicality involved in each film.

Caroline created short films RED IN THE WHITE and PIECES OF YOU in 2006 and has just completed a short thriller entitled ONCE REMOVED. In 2005 Caroline was Director of Photography for Motionhouse Dance Theatre’s PERFECT national tour to critical acclaim. She also Directed/Choreographed/Edited DECSURVEILLANCE, a multi screen dance film installation project funded by the Arts Council West Midlands CAPTURE scheme, shown at the Pump Rooms Art Gallery, Leamington Spa. She has since re-edited this as a single screen work for festivals, including Portobello Film Festival, London.

Caroline directed UPLIFT (2003) shown at the IMAX, London in 2003. BRANDED (2003) incorporates dance with animation and has been shown at the Northern Exposure Festival, London (2003), the 4th Constellation Change Screen Dance Festival (2004) at the Curzon, Soho and the first Dance on Camera Festival in Washington D.C. In 2004 she co-choreographed dance film TUSSLE shot on location in Gibraltar and shown in the Commonwealth Film Festival which toured nationally (2005).
Caroline directed and choreographed dance film WHAT?! and received critical acclaim in the Dancing Times (December 2001 issue). This toured to dance film festivals worldwide. She has directed and choreographed AU LAIT (2002) for South East Dance which screened at the Dance on Screen Festival, London and was runner-up at this festival’s Production Award, 2002.

In 2000-1, Caroline was a Jerwood Foundation Trainee for two of BBC’s Dance for Camera films, FOUNTAIN (Director: Margaret Williams) and TATTOO (Director: Miranda Pennell). She was production assistant at MJW Productions, working on FREEZE (Director: Lucy Baldwyn) for BBC2’s Dancing Across the Water series.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
