As part of the meta-media lab in collaboration with danceWEB 2014 mentors Chris Haring and David Wampach, we invited you to participate on a creative digital media project spacially conceived for danceWEB 2014 using short mobile video clips and Mobile Augmented Reality technology.

The idea is to create a data-base of short mobile videos as mediation of the memory of your body experience and location. You will make/create a daily 15 second video that shows the intersection of body and place, that showcases your body within the contexts it inhabits and navigate. Then the videos will be placed on a mobile installation.

 

Download and install Instagram in your smart phone

 

To do this you need to use the Instagram app available for iPhones and Androids.

The app allows you to make cool square videos of max 15 seconds length. You can also do in camera edit, and apply effects.

Then you upload them directly to your Instagram account that is opened when you start using the app.

Important: TAG YOUR VIDEOS with  #danceweb14 and # impulstanz14 and with two more tags that express location and mood. Hashtags are very important to be able to find your videos. We don't need your name.

We would need to have a video of each participant; so you can find a collaborator with a smartphone.

The videos may be also posted on the dance-web website and other festival online platforms.

NOTE: to save your data plan you may use WiFi for upload and transfers.

AUGMENTED REALITY

Your videos will be aggregated and placed on an Augmented reality platform that will allow to see them as digital overlays over the festival posters.

To be able to see the videos, the user needs to download  the free dancetectv AR App for iPhones and Android.

Seach in the app store and google play for dance tech and download the dancetechtvARapp.

TEST IT: Open the app, follow prompts and use it to scan the IMPULSTANZ logo on the postcards provided.

 

 

You will see a video floating over the postcard image.
