Meta-Academy participants are invited to use the following  videos and text (sound) as creative prompters to generate their own version of “Watching Watching” .

We would like to explore the notion of direct mediated movement transmission as a generative space  and the performance of"watching".

This concept of “Watching Watching” was developed by Bebe Miller during the creative process for her work ‘Necessary Beauty’ (2008).

We'd like to invite meta-academy collaborators to use these pieces to create your own video version of 'watching watching': video your self doing the video material - in exactitude or in variation utilizing the sound options.

How?:

The main idea is that you video your self watching/listening/doing/executing the material: movement or text.

You evan use YouTube Video uploader with you computer webcam and record while you watch or use any video software with your computer webcam (Imovie, etc)

You may also use mobile devices.
You may add text or the soundtrack to the video.

The material will be shared and used by other artists to "create' new mashups.

The movement vocabulary for this activity includes videos of Bebe improvising last week and text options culled from her earlier work “Nothing Can Happen Only Once” (1993). These materials are also used in her new work for Taking PLace, now in rehearsal for performance July 11 & 12 in Columbus, Ohio.

The resultant works will be exhibited at the meta-academy hub in ImPulsTanz (Vienna) and Bates Dance Festival 2014.

Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.

welcome to UNSTABLELANDSCAPE

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
