Here is what you will need for this lab.
Tools:
A computer with reliable internet access (the faster the better)
A web-cam
Headphones
A way of making images and videos and getting them onto the computer, like a smartphone or digital camera
Computer speakers so that you can listen to and perform the directions in Nancy Stark Smith’s “embodiment investigations” without wearing headphones.
a notebook or tablet app where you can draw and save images and share them digitally
Physical spaces: Some of the class activities will require a place where you can be in relative quiet, have an internet connection, and feel comfortable experimenting physically. For example in some of the embodiment investigations, you will need to be able to lie down on the floor, as well as move around a little.
Accounts: Please make sure that you have accounts set up for all of the major platforms we are using. All are free. Please read the privacy policies.
dance-tech.net (join the meta-academy@bates 2013 group)
Google+ (“upgrading” your gmail account to google+ will do the trick)
Youtube (you will get this automatically when you get a google+ account)
Time: 4-6 hours per week
Creativity: All activities are suggestions. The activities and resources with marked CORE are the ones we really want you to try. However, you should feel free to modify all activities to suit your interests. Remember, you are a Lab participant and a collaborator!
Critical mind and expertise. Share your thoughts and knowledge freely.

We are calling CONVERSATION STREAMS the spaces of interactive mediated dialogue and creation/production that exist across the whole lab deployment time and beyond. They may be continuos and threaded and they are spaces of inquiry, exchange and dialogue
We invite you to think about all your interactions as extensions of your presence and to explore the use several platforms in tandem with dance-tech.net and this group.
There are many web 2.0 platforms, but we are we are using dance-tech.net group and other platforms such as google+ and google hangouts, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and others.
The CONVERSATION STREAMS inside dance-tech.net are moderated by Marlon Barrios Solano, Rachel Boggia, Josephine Dorado and Hanna Kostrin.
The CONVERSATION STREAMS are the following:
This is the main topical discussion space for the lab. We will use it to establish a dialogical space on ideas, comments, provocations, theoretical questions, inspirations, etc. It is used as a continuous thread during the whole lab and after. It can host photos, video and text.
This is a space where we ask for technical support and how to guidance. In this space anybody can post and respond. We can share tutorials and other how to resources.
It is a space for ongoing feedback reflections on the pedagogy and methodologies: process on process.
AGGREGATED POSTS:

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
