Ruth Cathlow:

“Artists are good in mediating abstractions for our perceptions through play, open exploration and supposition. They can tolerate eve relish, extended encounters with difference, contradiction, muddle and slippage between symbolic and material possibilities without rushing to usefulness or simplicity. They have a kitbag of methods and processes for revealing the practical affordances and animal spirit of a subject, medium or technology. They know that a way to get to know something that does’n yet exist is to collaborate with its possibilities and to do something/anything with it or about it. And by doing so, they materialize and shape what it will be, allowing many other people to access, approach and reach out to it with different parts of themselves:”

Hello all, I would love to express my gratitude to all of you for contributing to make this vision a  a present site of curiosity and care.  I take advantage of the relativity of the rhythms of calendars to mark time; There are thresholds that help to create a frame around of the  living process that I inhabit. I am deeply grateful to all of you and specially to Jeanne and Stef; whom from the get go committed themselves with lots of honesty and passion.  I really love to feel the vitality of your curiosity and to feel the help of Lenara as a collaborator/friend  for more than 20 year of explorations on life, embodiment and technology.  I would like to pause and affirm the primacy of some elements or threads in my inquiry/ies that are important to share with you. I know for sure that we share some of these:

-.The primacy of Embodiment  mind, body, environment/culture complex.

-. The value of Practice base research/art practice as research.

-.Expanded notions of dance-choreography, technology, life, art

-. Eco-systemic awareness: primacy of our embeddedness in socio-technical complex systems with emergence  as an important epistemic framework.

-Importance of tolerance of complexity as an affective  epistemic framework. -. Commitment to awareness not only as an individual phenomenology; it must include historical forces impacting the now of phenomena: patriarchy, colonialism and capitalism.

-. The evidence that knowledge is co-created and re-created by the act of "embodied knowing',

-. The inevitability of the performative: coupling of embeddedness of actions and signification/narratives, economic forces  with iour ways of transmission

-. The practice of art as an act of resistance to the historical forces of oppression  and normalization.

.-The importance of collaboration, sharing and care as an antidote to the maladies of the prevalent systems.

.-Economy and ecology as "homes" that we can continually   reimagine and reengineer.

-. The blockchain is just another reminder of the obvious sociality and  our embeddedned  distributed cognitive condition.

- Remember to always reassemble 'the social" as a context of co-creation: therefore networks of actors (embodied actors/not abstractions/it is a dynamic process.

.- Awareness of the hybridity of the human  acts of cognition/always as techne.

.-Awareness of the suffering and hope ; we are systemically enduring the ongoing harm and collective healing may feel as. creativity.

Some of these ideas or premises have  been the ongoing unstable landscape of my life, trying that host a paradox of change and stability, existence and dissipation. I exist as a 'languaging' creature dissipating in the intersection of sensations, metaphors,  metabolism, and meta-cognition. I consider this project as an invitation to dwell  in  this complex expanded awareness.  Love to you all  and happy new  year!

“With multi-signatures as a primitive for cooperatives, we have the basic blueprint for a revitalization of new mutualistic institutions in a peer-to-peer context, including mutual funds, mutual credit systems, and mutual insurance […] Since multi-signature accounts presuppose groups or identity collections as their primary unit, we have an interesting and as of yet under explored form of composable identity in our hands.”

welcome to UNSTABLELANDSCAPE

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
