Call for Participation: Artistic and Scientific Research in the European Conference on Complex Systems

Dear all,

Atelier Real will be leading a Satellite Meeting named "[ENTRE]* Artistic and Scientific Research: meeting points and bridging lines" within
the frame of the
European
Conference on Complex Systems
which will take place in Lisbon between the 13th
and the 17th of September 2010.

In recent years it’s becoming clear that the knowledge some artists convey through the exploration of conceptual and methodological models in their working processes is a strong alternative
to more institutionalized knowledge production schema. With this conference
we want to call the attention for that fact and contribute to bring
arts and sciences closer without falling into the stereotyped collaborative
strategies where artists and scientists, instead of fuse and contaminate,
merely illustrate and ornament each other’s activities.

We invite everyone to submit proposals for the Satellite Meeting that can contribute to the understanding of how research in contemporary arts influences the reasoning around and
about questions that are common and transversal to both areas such as
embodiment, representation, perception, decision-making, emergence,
self-organization or creativity.

We expect contributions to range between lectures (scientific papers) and lectures/performances. The Deadline for submissions: 30th of April 2010.

Please forward this call to anyone whom you may consider adequate.

Hope to read from you soon.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
