Event Description

The Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition celebrates two major events this year: the 10th Anniversary of the Competition and the 40th Anniversary of the defection of Kozlova, with Leonid Kozlov, from the Soviet Union.  The couple, then principal dancers with the Bolshoi Ballet, defected when the Bolshoi was on tour in Los Angeles.  Rounds for entrants from around the world will be held March 16, 17 & 18.  On March 19th, beginning at 6 PM, the Kozlovs (Leonid will come from his home in Aruba) will be reunited on stage in a Gala Performance which will include appearances by past VKIBC medalists Brooklyn Mack, Clement Guillame, Justin Valentine, and more.   March 20, also starting at 6 PM, will begin with the announcement of the dancers who have won medals, contracts to dance companies, and scholarships to dance academies around the world, followed by a Gala Performance of winners starting at 7 PM.  President of the Jury is Charles Jude, former etoile with the Paris Opera Ballet.  For times of the Rounds, please visit the website at www.vkibc.org

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
