4th of Edition of TRANSIT FESTIVAL is taking place in İSTANBUL between 1st and 8th of July. Then will move to CAPPADOCCIA on the 10th till 17th.

TRANSIT FESTIVAL is an international festival which already completed 3 successful editions on the art scene of ISTANBUL. It gathers artists and audiences from different backgrounds, in and around the practice of improvisation and performance art, through dance, music and visual arts, investing specific environments and locations.

TRANSIT FESTIVAL proposes workshops to an international audience composed of professional artists, amateurs and offers access to contemporary performances to local audiences.

This year, during its first week TRANSIT FESTIVAL will welcome again the famous duet of improvised music and dance; Barre Phillips and Julyen Hamilton. They will give a 8 day workshop to share their vision and experience with a group of 35 dancers and musicians as well as perform and lead a panel.

We will then make a leap further east in Anatolia to persue in Uchisar, small village of CAPPADOCCIA. Using the natural and cultural environments as key elements of the artistic proposition, a residency workshop will be led by Yanaël Plumet in and around the village. A series of performances specially created for this place and event will be proposed to the local audience.
