TOPAZ ARTS Dance Productions premieres a new evening-length work "on the other side of silence" on Dec. 11-14, 2008 at 8pm, choreographed by Paz Tanjuaquio with music & film by Todd Richmond who incorporate dance with film, music and art installations throughout the entire space. Based on "Soundless Music" a 1952 manuscript by Yoko Ono written just years after the first atomic bombs, the dance draws inspiration from the title and the whimsical imagery of distorted environments and infinite space, exploring movement ideas of imbalance and finding lucidity in uncertainty. The work has taken us on journeys from Hiroshima
& Nagasaki, Japan to desert terrain of the West Coast, creating new
choreography, music and dance on film, rendering dancers amidst the
expanse of alternating landscapes. (all shot on 16mm film)
Performed by Chia Ying Kao, Uta Takemura, Paz Tanjuaquio with Rebecca Bone, Niles Ford, Yuki Nitta, Robin Wyllie. Plus special guest choreographer Molissa Fenley creates a new solo for Paz to John Cage's silent score "4:33". Lighting design is by Mark T. Simpson and costumes by Jeffrey Wirsing.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
