Danspace Project’s City/Dans presents
Sound Memory, a compelling new work by Julian Barnett.
In a world that can be recorded, rewound, fast-forwarded and replayed, how do we experience the present? A trio of powerful performers function within the malleable net of memory to catalogue a timeless framework of experience and distinct audio landscapes. Reshaped and retold through recollection and physical impulse, Sound Memory illuminates a world to be remembered.
Sound Memory features performance by Barnett, Justin Ternullo and Hanna Kivioja, with stage design by Solomon Weisbard, lighting by long-time collaborator Amanda Ringger and a musical score that is personal, shared, found, created, recycled, borrowed, and restored. Come listen.

“Julian Barnett's brilliant "Sound Memory" doesn't leave the dance open to our imagination, it explores what an imagination does with what gets handed to it.... Sometimes the dance is in real time and sometimes it has the smooth patina of dream-memory. It is the raw and the cooked together.” - ArtsJournal
Hope to see you there!!

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
