Event Description

LEIMAY LUDUS Lab: Voice as Movement with Peter Sciscioli

June 11, 3pm-6pm, $36

This lab is intended for anyone interested in exploring or using voice as a practice and/or in performance. Using an anatomy-based approach to increasing awareness of the breath, accessing many dimensions of sound production, and working into speaking and singing, we will discover how exploring the voice as movement can expand the variety of choices that are available to performers, connect us to our unique vocal power, and allow for a fuller means of expression through the body.

Zack Fuller’s dances have been presented at CAVE’s New York Butoh Festival, Plan B in Tokyo, Mobius in Boston, The Dance Hakushu Festival, Movement Research at Judson Church, St. Thomas College in Thrissur (India), and elsewhere. They frequently involve collaboration with cutting edge musicians such as Keiji Haino, Tatsuya Nakatani, Kat Hernandez, and his longtime collaborator Jonathan Vincent. He is strongly influenced by his experience participating in theatrical research with Ryszard Cieslak, the leading actor of Jerzy Grotowski’s Polish Laboratory Theater in the late eighties. From 1997-2001 he performed throughout Europe, Japan, and the U.S. in works by the renowned dancer/farmer Min Tanaka, including the U.S. tour of Poe Project and the European tour of the Goya series.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
