Eastern Bloc presents SIGHTandSOUND: an immersive video experience, over 2 nights (May 29 + 30), incorporating the work of 20 artists from Canada and the United States. Combining various forms of digital arts, these artists will collaborate in a manipulation of the space at the Eastern Bloc through the use of six projection screens, encapsulating the audience in waves of sound and video. The artists’ works will travel from one screen to the other, in random sequences, creating an onslaught of sensory stimuli.
Part I (May 29) is co-curated by Eliane Ellbogen (artistic director, Eastern Bloc) and Marie-Helene Parant (Share MTL - www.sharemtl.com). Part II (May 30) is curated by Eliane Ellbogen.
SIGHTandSOUND: Part I will captivate its audience with 2 hours of experimental audiovisual explorations. The works presented will encompass an interactive, ambient, and minimal approach to audio and visual collaborations amongst the following artists:
Katherine Liberovskaya (mtl - www.liberovskaya.net) and Eric Létourneau (mtl); Marie-Hélène Parant (mtl - www.marieheleneparant.com), Angela di Lauro (mtl), and François Giroux (mtl); Chris Jordan (nyc - www.seej.net) and Maxime Rioux (mtl - www.cooptel.qc.ca/~maxime); David Linton (nyc); Chika Iijima (nyc - www.imagima.com) and Jim Bell (mtl); and Eric Filion - Nokami (mtl - www.nokami.com) and Michael Trommer (to - www.myspace.com/mtrommer)
SIGHTandSOUND: Part II offers up a spasmic array of video mash-up works by artists using a strong audio-visual link in their repertoire. In contrast to Part I, transitions from one screen to another will be quick, sound will be fast and loud, and videos will be extreme. Works will be shown by the following artists:
Jubal Brown (to - www.jubalbrown.com), Beewoo (mtl), Ouananiche (mtl - www.poissonsmorts.com), Agor (mtl), Pete O’Hearn (to- www.oxyop.com/onama.htm), Nwodtlem (to - www.myspace.com/nwodtlemhmcr), Bear Witness (ottawa), and Meat Parade (gatineau - www.myspace.com/meatparade)
For more information on the artists, please visit their websites.
SIGHTandSOUND is presented in collaboration with Share MTL, Oboro (www.oboro.net), Artengine (www.artengine.ca) and Videographe (www.videographe.qc.ca)
Tickets for this event will be on sale in advance at Eastern Bloc and at the door. $10 per night or $15 for both nights.
Doors open at 8pm. Performances start at 9pm both nights.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
