SEAM 2013: Authorship, Audience and Curation

15–17 November 2013 – Sydney

Returning for its fourth year, this year’s SEAM highlights discourse at the intersections of theory and practice. It will provide a forum to share perspectives on the roles of creativity, craft and culture in dialogue with a cross-disciplinary field of creative makers, practitioners and thinkers.

Call for Presentations Now Open

We are calling for proposals from people wishing to present at SEAM2013.  This link to the call for presentation (http://seam2013.wordpress.com/2013/04/17/call-for-presentations/) takes you to our new SEAM 2013 Blog and provides all the information you’d need to make a submission.  I’ll also send you a Call for Presentations PDF.  Proposals are due by 5pm EST Monday 24 June 2013.  We hope that you will help us spread the word about SEAM2013 by sharing this link and PDF with your colleagues.  Everyone will be able to get updates on SEAM2013 guest speakers and presentations by following this blog.

We encourage submissions that challenge established notions of performance and formats of presentation: including live artistic representations, presentable texts, workshops, visual documentation, moving image and other expositions of concepts, philosophies and approaches. Submissions should seek to explore conversations and convergences within and outside your practice and address the Symposium’s themes of Authorship, Audience and Curation.

The call for presentations is open to all practitioners and academics that engage in the making, constructing, choreographing, writing, performing, directing and designing of performance and performance spaces. Presentations should highlight independent perspectives on creativity, innovation, craft and culture.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
