Event Description

Ohad Naharin, Artistic Director of Israel’s Bat Sheva Dance Company, developed Gaga movement language to help dancers (and non dancers alike) reconnect to the way they move. Gaga is a unique form of dance... that is highly experiential and encourages authenticity as well as joy in movement. Directions are given primarily in images as opposed to steps, and the object is to cultivate one's own way of moving through sensations. ...Imagery stimulates imagination and movement. (From SF Conservatory of Dance newsletter) “Gaga challenges multi layer tasks. It is fundamental for gaga users to be available for this challenge. At once we, the users, can be involved in moving slowly through space while a quick action in our body is in progress.” –Ohad Naharin
