> The Festival
Established in the North West of England, moves - International Festival of Movement on Screen is the largest exhibition platform in the UK for experimental screen-based artworks that explore “movement on screen” through film, video, installations, live events and papers.

We are thrilled to announce the festival dates for moves 7th edition:
27 April - 1 May 2011 | Liverpool & UK

> The Theme
With great excitement moves launches its 2011 theme: INTERSECTIONS - Filming Across Culture & Technology

All new art forms come into light by processes of experimentation: crossing, altering and pushing traditional boundaries merging classic conceptions/practises with new technologies/techniques.

moves11 will investigate the importance of these fusions in screen-based art to innovate, highlighting connections that look at multicultural and interdisciplinary creations, new forms of representation questioning conventional limitations as a way to create new genres/disciplines. Meet us at the intersection of culture and technology.

To showcase the best experimental short films and video art exploring "movement on screen" from around the world moves is now inviting filmmakers and artists to present screen-based works that investigate cultural and technological intersections. moves11 will look at films, installations, live events and papers that create connections at various levels capturing, discussing and imagining different INTERSECTIONS.

The best works shown at the festival will enter the race for the moves Film Award (cash prize £1000), moves Audience award (professional training worth up to £500) and the international moves Tour Award (to screen around the world).

If you would like to submit a film, video, installation/live event or paper examining the theme INTERSECTIONS please visit www.movementonscreen.org.uk to register and submit your project.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
