Event Description

RAJA FEATHER KELLY AND BROOKLYN DANCE CLUB present the World Premiere of LYRICAL DANCES FOR A LOST GENERATION at Gelsey Kirkland Arts Center, 29 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY, from February 5-6, 2016.  Performances: Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm. Tickets are $20 for general seating and are available at http://lostgeneration.brownpapertickets.com/. The show runs 90 minutes.

A roulette of genuine dance numbers to popular music. Curated by director, dancer, choreographer and Warhol-fanatic Raja Feather Kelly, 13 choreographers hit the stage with no concept, no media, and no lengthy psycho-babble bullshit. Lights go up, music goes on, and they dance. They dance their hearts out- embracing what they call the ‘J.O.D’ (Joy of Dance). It’s a show that promises to promise hope for dance and dance lovers.  LYRICAL DANCES FOR A LOST GENERATION is the 2-sided mix-tape in response to the most frequently thought of question for choreographers in the age of Obama: Yeah, but can they dance? YES WE CAN!

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.
