“Mr. Elkins’s ceaselessly brilliant and often hilarious take on The Sound of Music is a fount of unending movement ideas and about as much visceral pleasure as it’s possible to have in a theater.” – The New York Times

“I am interested in movement collage and in creating work that has the power to surprise. How fortunate to have a team of collaborators ready to tap into the collective memory of the Von Trapps.” – Doug Elkins

A love letter to his young son Liam and daughter Gigi, Doug Elkins’ FRÄULEIN MARIA has wowed audiences since its 2006 premiere. This delightful take on Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music includes ballet, hip-hop, voguing, stepping, stomping and more. Directed by Barbara Karger and Michael Preston, this New York Dance and Performance “Bessie” Award winning piece is a holiday treat not to be missed.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
