New York and Chicago based choreographer Rachel Thorne Germond presents Fours on Tour, an evening of new dance works exploring the possibilities of the number Four, including two new quartets and a solo that explore accumulation structures to find form, flirting with themes of cabaret, evolution, numerology, and animal behavior. The animal-like movements, serious simplicity and repetition of Quartet A is juxtaposed with the slapstick comedy busting out of the seams nature of Quartet B. A solo for the choreographer, Not About Elvis Dance.
Dancers/Performers: Rachel Thorne Germond, Annie Rudnik, Renata Sheppard, Gina T'ai,Jennifer Thompson.
RTG Dance is a contemporary dance company based in Chicago, IL, directed by choreographer Rachel Thorne Germond. In its commitment to bringing an original and contemporary vision to the public and to building appreciation for the performing arts, RTG Dance is dedicated to high standards of innovation in dancing and dance-making. It is our goal to convey through movement, text, and multi-media elements, a world-on-stage that is not dissimilar to everyday life, but which addresses aspects of fantasy, imagination, and memory within the context of the contemporary culture.
Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.
WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
