Event Description

DANCE FOR THE CAMERA 2012

DFTC’s 6th INTENSIVE SUMMER PROGRAM
DATES:  AUGUST 6 – 18, 2012

NOT TOO LATE TO APPLY
WE HAVE A FEW SPOTS LEFT

LOCATED IN BEAUTIFUL VICTORIA BC CANADA, DFTC 2012 is a unique opportunity for established and emerging choreographers, filmmakers, videographers, dancers and visual artists to explore dance/movement for the camera under the mentorship of  Grace Salez (Independent Filmmaker) and Constance Cooke (Choreographer).

DFTC’s participants are individually assisted while exploring the technical, practical and artistic challenges involved in producing a dance/movement video in a supportive and collaborative environment. Exercises with camera and dance are explored before diving into your finale video project. Daily screenings of contemporary dance films representing the cutting edge of dance for the camera films &/or video are followed by discussions. Screenings of your video project in progress are followed by critical feedback to assist you in bringing your final video project to a public screening on the last day of the DFTC program.

WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE

This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.

We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary  community interacting and embedded  unstablelandscape.

This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
