Event Description

Dance Camera West (DCW) announces their 12th Annual DCW Dance Media Festival, screening at a variety  of premiere arts destinations in Los Angeles May 2-5, 2013.  This year’s festival theme, “Get Wet” promises an exhilarating celebration of screen dance, live dance and water.
Always at the intersection of culture and choreography, the DCW 2013 Festival will feature their signature roster of highly anticipated international dance films, highlighted with live dances from world-renowned choreographers and dancers. The festival will offer a diverse and cultural mix of award winning screenings, arts inspired discussions, and special site-specific performances performed at fountains located at The Music Center, Getty Museum, LACMA and the Annenberg Beach House.  Kicking off the festival in the heart of the downtown art scene, is the breathtaking “Get Wet” dance series choreographed by Sarah Elgart at the Music Center on Thursday May 2 , 2013.  The evening program will feature DCW’s highly anticipated shorts program, a collection of curated international dance films followed by an opening night party at the Historic Founders Room. Screenings and live dances by director/choreographers Kitty McNamee, Danny Ezralow and Tony Testa will continue throughout the festival programs through May 5th.
