Event Description

The use of new technologies in dance, performance and art in general, is leading the development of new materials for the artist , as well as new technology for scientific applications .

The main objective of this course is to train students in some of these new technologies to develop their own project. The character of the course is theoretical and practical : first the state -of-art will be discussed in the use of technology in dance and the different families of sensors and actuators estudianrán common and the main concepts of a system control. Practically, will be taught using drivers as Arduino, interactive graphical programming environments such as Processing, or languages ​​as Puredata interactive sound composition .

Several working groups to carry out a project between technicians and performers who will be presented as course work will be created. The artistic content of these projects is the reinterpretation of classic myths , as part of the creative process of the European project Crossing Stages.

PROGRAM

Session 1: Introduction to the course . Introduction and State of the Art .

3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Introduction to the course . Objectives , methodology and working groups by Javi Gorostiza .
15:30 to 16:30 Dance and Laboratory Stages Crossing project , Jaime Conde- Salazar
16:30 to 17:00 Introduction Robotics . Dance and Robotics: State of the Art by Gorostiza Javi .
17:00 to 18:00 Presentation of the students and organizing working groups.
Practice: Designing a dance project and technology: materials scene , HW and SW design , artistic discourse , etc. .
- Analysis of web prior art references . Update of new projects.
- Dialogues and group brainstorming . Final group presentation .

Session 2: Synesthesia and Robotics .
The 11/02/2014 in Leganés Campus . Classroom 1.0.H03 .

About 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. music, dance and synesthesia, by Javier Aparicio .
16:00 to 17:30 sensors , actuators and control. Introduction to the tools must work : Arduino, Processing and Pure -Data . Presentation of jobs.
17:30 to 18:00 Practical development assisted by working groups . Design and implementation of a complete project . Aesthetics : main ideas, scenic design , playwriting , choreography, etc. . Technical aspects : sensors, actuators and control system.

Session 3 : Practical session .
The Campus 18.02.2014 in Leganes . classroom 1.0.H03

3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Programming Processing, Arduino, Zigbee and MIDI / OSC .
16:00 to 16:15 Body Exercise led by the dance classroom .
16:15 to 18:00 Practical development assisted by working groups . Amendment and advancing proposals.

Session 4 : The staging
The Campus 02.25.2014 in Leganes . classroom 1.0.H03

3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Programming Processing, Arduino, Zigbee and MIDI / OSC .
16:00 to 16:15 Body Exercise led by the dance classroom . 16:00 to 18:00 Practical development assisted by working groups . Advancement of the proposals.

Session 5: Sample workflow developed during the course.
The Campus 03.04.2014 in Leganes . Auditorium .

3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. End of the proposals. Rehearsal and staging .
