On August 30, 2017 at 6pm, audiences are invited to witness and be a part of Kinesis Project dance theatre's creation process of TimePiece, or: Another imperfect measurement of us as a part of Revealing Dances. A public rehearsal by the company will invite audiences into the process of how a site-specific dance is made, followed by a facilitated conversation with the creative process theme of "Practice." Tickets are $10 and are available at https://revealingdances2017.eventbrite.com.
TimePiece, or: Another imperfect measurement of us, choreographer Melissa Riker's newest collaboration with NYC costume designer Asa Thornton and Seattle visual artist Celeste Cooning, is a site-specific dance about time, perspective and connection over distances created for the breathtaking roof. With live music and dances on escalators, steps, on the grass and viewed from above, the piece spans the entire space, and invites audiences into the colorful world of the piece. As the dancers move, spin and partner - their costumes slowly release brightly colored sand - drawing the audience, time, and the performance, throughout the space. .....Imagine a sand kaleidoscope spilling into real life: messy and wonderful.
Humans exploring collaboration, coops, hybrid art, dance, embodiment, cognition, tech-science, networks, post-humanism and culture.
WE LIVE WITHIN AN UNSTABLE LANDSCAPE
This is a social networking website connecting people concerned about innovation and experimentation on art, dance, embodiment, cognition, science, networks, post-humanism, media and the unstable landscape of contemporary culture and life.
We are in a transitional phase and refocusing the network with a broader interdisciplinary framework. It will reflect a contemporary community interacting and embedded unstablelandscape.
This network is maintained and administrated by Marlon Barrios Solano as an independent art/curatorial/social innovation project.
